Solemn, metaphysical, and tread slowly.
Three stories and I was dying for the connection. The first is about a famous woman anchor of a French TV political program, Marie Lelay (Cécile De France – High Tension (2003)- must watch!),who survived the Indonesia’s tsunami. She had had a near-death experience. The main character is George Lonegan(Matt Damon), whose is cursed with a gift the Long Island style –Theresa Caputo! The third is in London, where a twin brother was killed in an accident, the younger brother Marcus(Frankie McLaren/George McLaren) is grieving, and desperate to have his brother back.
This film was directed by Clint Eastwood. Although it did feel let’s-wrap-up for the last 30 minutes, it had a sweet predictable ending. I wish there were more after though! It didn’t really explain; it lays it out there… perhaps, saying more is nothing but hallucinatory speculation? no one could attest to death, couldn’t they?
I like the geographical parallelism, i.e., three characters in San Francisco, London and Paris and they meet-coincidence or destiny?!
