One Day (2011)

Once you adjusted to and accepted Anne Hathaway‘s accent, and her goofy looks at the beginning, the rest of the film was quite endearing. It grew on you, especially for Jim Sturgess‘s young puppy face!–Sturgess was in Cloud Atlas (2012)–and Hathaway eventual becoming the beautiful swam.

The screenplay is based on the book of same title written by the same novelist,  David Nicholls. The story may be melodramatic, but at least it is more realistic: the mess of  relationships; the ups and downs; the uncertainties; the expectations…

I think the message is that we must trust our instinct, loving-out-loud, and live one day at a time. Who knows what will happen tomorrow?
